Reverend Beaven attended parochial schools, graduating from Bishop Chatard High School. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and was called into ministry while attending Ball State University (Muncie, Indiana) where he received a B.S. degree in business administration. He is currently in the M.A.R. degree program studying religion and ministry at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Deerfield, Illinois), one of the nation's most reputable theological seminaries.

Reverend Beaven's commitment to the church is evidenced by his religious service. Prior to the pastorate in Indianapolis, he served as associate pastor of administration and education at the former Maynard Temple COGIC (Faith Center for All Nations, Muncie, Indiana). He has served within the COGIC denomination, the largest Pentecostal religious body in the USA, as a national adjutant, jurisdictional executive board member and leadership conference chairman, and district superintendent.

As a ministry consultant, Reverend Beaven provides facilitation training in the areas of congregational health, family ministry, leadership and personal development. His pastoral counseling ministry provides comprehensive premarital education. He is an approved teacher with Evangelical Training Association and an instructor at Aenon Bible College. He has taught Moody Bible Institute external division courses. His is a member in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the American Society for Church Growth. Respected for his teaching ministry, he is a frequent speaker and seminar presenter at churches, conferences, and retreats.

Reverend Beaven's professional secular work has been primarily in the education and financial/sales fields. His previous experience includes school-community liaison, insurance agent, pension fund administrator, insurance regional vice president, and real estate agency president. In the mid 1990's, the agency was one of three real estate firms selected by the City of Indianapolis in an initiative to revitalize urban housing development.

Reverend Beaven's community involvement has included serving as an executive council member and president of the COGIC Metro Ministerial Alliance, and an assistant treasurer and co-president, respectively for two Indianapolis Public School PTO's. He has also served on the board of directors for Indy Youth Ministries. He currently serves on the advisory board of LPC Ministries, and is chair of the CBFRS Grant network steering committee for a division of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
