Erich is an international church consultant and Associate Professor of World Mission and Leadership at Andrews University. He is part of the staff of the Institute of World Mission, teaches missiology, church growth and leadership development, and directs the Global Research Center. He is currently developing an innovative competency-based Ph.D. program for global/church leadership for Christian mid-career leadership professionals.
Before coming to Andrews, Erich was director of the Church Leadership Development Institute in Portland, OR and Moscow, Russia. He has also worked as a pastor and evangelist in Austria, Switzerland and North America.
His doctoral research (Ph.D., Fuller Theological Seminary) focused on growth factors in European Adventist churches and earned the Donald A. McGavran Award (1989) and Alan Tippet Award (1990). He has edited Re-Visioning Adventist Mission in Europe (1998, Andrews University Press). He has also translated a number of books in Christian Schwarz's Natural Church Development series including Implementation Guide to Natural Church Development (published by ChurchSmart Resources). |
