An admitted "information junkie" and explorer, Carol Childress frequents book stores, airports, shopping malls and other people-learning centers across the country, important in her role as the leader of Leadership Network's Information Network. Her expertise includes demographic and cultural analysis, strategic thinking, and change technology and futurist studies.
Ms. Childress serves as the content editor of Next, a publication of Leadership Network with a 16,000 circulation, and is also responsible for Explorer and Explorer Lite, e-mail services sent to more than 11,000 national church and denominational leaders. She is a frequent speaker and worship leader.
Ms. Childress joined Leadership Network in December 1991, following eleven years of ministry with Baptist General Convention of Texas as a Research Consultant. From 1971-1979 she was involved in city management in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, working for Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Hurst. She also served served on the staff of the Texas Urban Development Commission as a Research Assistant from 1970-71 while engaged in graduate studies.
Ms. Childress is a graduate of Texas Tech (B.A. in History and Political Science, 1970); The Institute of Urban Studies, The University of Texas (M.A., Urban Affairs, 1971); and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.1982).
