Russell Burrill was born in Haverhill, Mass. He received his BA in Theology with a minor in Biblical languages from Atlantic Union College in 1963. He rreceived his MA from Andrews University in 1964 and his D.Min. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is married to the former Cynthia Hartman and they have two married children: James and Ruth. He has pastored in Connecticut, Maryland, Washington, and Kansas. Since 1999, he has also served as chariman of the Christian Ministry Department at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
He has authored five books: Revolution in the Church, Radical Disciples for Revolutionary Churches, The Revolutionized Church of the 21st Century, Recovering an Adventist Approach to Life and Mission in the Adventist Church, and Rekindling the Lost Passion: Recreating a Church Planting Movement. In addition, he has written multiple magazine articles in the areas of church growth and church planting. He currently is also in charge of the SEEDS Conferences, an annual church planting conference for Adventist church planters with over 600 annual attendees. His areas of speciality include church planting, church growth, and lay empowerment. |
